Nairobi set for prolonged water rationing
Nairobi residents have been forewarned to brace themselves for a prolonged water rationing in the coming months.
The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Limited (NCWSC) have updated the Equitable Water Distribution Program that will see residents go for days without water in their taps.
“Customers are urged to immediately contact the customer care team in regional offices should you not receive water in your allotted days of supply,” NCWSC said in a notice to customers.

The prolonged dry weather, which is currently being witnessed after the long rain season failed, has been the country’s worst in 38 years, worsening food shortages and water scarcity.
Last year the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company said they can only supply 504,000 cubic metres of water against the demand of 770,000 cubic metres.
Ndakaini Dam is the source of water to city residents.
