Kidero vows to reclaim land grabbed from Nairobi schools

Nairobi City County Governor, Evans Kidero, has put on notice land grabbers of school plots with an assurance that the county will reclaim them.

Kidero was speaking on Thursday in Muguga Green Primary School where he pledged Sh25 million towards the construction of a kitchen and dining hall for students.

“For those who are eyeing school land, let it be known to you that you will not succeed and we will not only deal with you accordingly, but we will protect school land with our blood and might,” Kidero said.

The governor was in the company of his deputy, Jonathan Mueke, Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi and area MCA Jaffer Kassam inspected ongoing works of the dining room.

“In 2015 when I planted a tree and conducted a ground breaking exercise to commence construction I said that quality education can only be achieved where the school environment is child friendly. A child friendly school is where there is effective teaching and learning, effective use of resources and child centered learning. This hall will ensure the kids connect around a table in a particular way that encourages them to be together, and conceivably encourages them to share their food,” added Kidero.
