My kids handling guns is none of your business, Theuri tells critics

A defiant Embakasi West MP Mr George Theuri has responded to public criticism for letting his under-age children handle firearms.

“Nobody has a right to teach me and my dear lovely wife Cynthia Gitonga on how we shall bring up our boys,” Theuri wrote on his Facebook page late on Friday.

“Yes I may make some mistakes but just as my dad raised me up in his own ways and how best he thought, then so do I want to raise up my family,” he further said.

The MP’s remarks follows revelation by Nairobi News of shocking photos and a video of his wife and their two young sons holding a pistol during a recent family outing.

The photos show the MP’s two children, dressed in military fatigue, holding a pistol at what appears to be a shooting range.

Another photo shows the MP’s wife Cynthia Gitonga, a knee-length black dress and heeled shoes, taking aim at a target with the help of a trainer, while the video concludes with a caption “Never mess with Cynthia Gitonga.”
