How flour made mother burn daughter’s private parts

A 14 year old girl from Furfural village in Likuyani, Kakamega County is nursing serious injuries on her private parts at hospital after the mother burned her using kerosene.

The victim’s brother recounted how their mother arrived home on Sunday afternoon and became incensed after noticing that the girl had fried maize flour meant for cooking ugali.

“When asked by mum where she had gotten the flour, our sister lied that she had borrowed it from a neighbour, prompting mum to rush to the said neighbour to confirm,” said the brother, who added that the neighbour denied giving out such a commodity to his sister.

The enraged mother was said to have pounced on her daughter and used crude cane to discipline her.

“My sister struggled and managed to escape from mum’s  grip  and rushed to our bedroom where she locked herself. However, mum violently broke the door and continued hitting her,” he added.

The violent woman, who has since disappeared from home, was said to have doused a litre of kerosene on her daughter’s private parts before lighting her up with a matchstick.

The victim, a standard seven pupil at Kongoni primary school, was rescued by neighbours who rushed her to Kongoni dispensary where she received first aid attention before being transferred to the Kitale Sub County hospital where is recuperating.

The victim’s father was away on duty by the time of the incident.

Likuyani OCPD, Mr Meshack Kiptum, confirmed the incident and assured members of public that security agencies have already launched investigations into the matter.
