Moses Kuria storms out of TV interview over hate speech video

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria caused a stir while on live television when he walked out in the middle of an interview on Tuesday evening.

Mr Kuria, who was being interviewed by Citizen TV anchor Hussein Mohammed, stormed out when a clip of him allegedly inciting youth in Gatundu was about to be played.

The clip which has elicited anger from Kenyans shows Mr Kuria inciting his constituents to slash politicians opposed to the National Youth Service (NYS) projects.

The anchor had asked him to explain his utterances, to which Mr Kuria denied saying a huge portion of the clip had been edited out and demanded that the video which he says was 45 minutes be played for Kenyans to know what really transpired.

“I was taken out of context. To understand you have to see the full footage of my speech,” Mr Kuria said.

However, Mr Mohammed insisted on playing the video which caused him to walk out.

He quickly became the topic on twitter with a hashtag #WhyKurialeft.

“Moses Kuria has left the building mid interview,” tweeted Willis Raburu, Citizen TV reporter.

He was the number one trending topic in the better part of Tuesday night.
