A video has surfaced on social media showing controversial Gatundu MP Moses Kuria allegedly urging some of his constituents to slash opponents of the revamped National Youth Services programmes with machetes.

In the footage, the legislator, who is already facing hate speech charges, speaks in his vernacular Kikuyu language.

“Those pangas are not just for cutting grass. Someone like that (opposed to the NYS programme), you first prune him and finish him,” says Mr Kuria.

The video was posted by blogger Robert Alai on his Facebook account.

He then says NYS personnel in Gatundu are his militia to guard the “development projects being spearheaded by President Uhuru Kenyatta and himself”.

Opposition leaders have maintained that Devolution Cabinet Secretary Ms Anne Waiguru should resign over the Sh826 million saga that hit the service, which is one of the best funded State agencies.
