Congratulations, but stop begging for handouts, Moses Kuria tells Gor Mahia


Gatundu South Member of Parliament, Moses Kuria, is among high profile personalities and entities who have congratulated Gor Mahia for winning the 2018 Kenyan Premier League title.

The controversial lawmaker, who is a confessed K’Ogalo fan, has however challenged the club’s management to come up with permanent solutions of ending their consistent financial challenges.

“Congratulations my boys K’Ogalo for clinching KPL 2018. Now we have three major headaches to overcome. Qualifying for the quarter-finals at the continental level, always begging for money for air tickets despite our mighty brand and getting a serious challenger at the local level,” Kuria wrote on his Facebook page.

The MP’s comments come barely two days after President Uhuru Kenyatta bailed out the team with a Sh6million handout to enable them honour a Caf Confederation Cup match away to Algeria’s USM Algers.

Gor Mahia players have also repeatedly went on go slows this season over delayed payments.

The politician has severally had to dig into his pocket to support the club and its fan base in the recent past.

Dylan Kerr’s club retained the league title on Saturday following a 2-0 victory over AFC Leopards at Kasarani, a feat that attracted a flurry of congratulatory messages on social media.
