Moses Kuria calls Cord supporters cows, tells them to grow up

Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria, has stirred fresh controversy with yet another unsavoury remark about supporters of the opposition alliance Cord.

In a brief rant on Facebook, Mr Kuria, who has a pending cases in court for charges related to hate speech and incitement,  also made disparaging comments about Cord leader Raila Odinga.

Mr Kuria’s latest outbursts came as a result of what he claims is a fake blog by Cord supporters “allegedly quoting him on comments on Deputy President William Ruto.”

NEXT PRESIDENT

In an ironical twist to his post, Mr Kuria went ahead to wish Mr Odinga a long life so that he lives to see Mr Ruto becoming the next president of Kenya.

But the clincher was a footnote in his post (Mukagimara ri ngombe ichi) written in his vernacular language which loosely translates to “You cows, when will you grow up?”

Mr Kuria has a track record of making inflammatory remarks that have often landed him in trouble with the authorities.

In November 2015 he was arrested over remarks in video in which he allegedly urged his constituents to use machetes to slash those opposed to the revamped National Youth Services programmes.

In June 2016 he was again arrested and detained over incitement-related charges along with other legislators. Mr Kuria and his fellow law markers stayed in police custody for four days before being released on bond.
