‘Monkey business’ IAAF advert has Netizens complaining
Netizens have shared mixed reactions to an advert in the local dailies showing a monkey’s image accompanying a message on the IAAF World U18 Championship.
The international athletics competition will be staged at the refurbished Kasarani stadium in Nairobi between 12-16, and understandably, the organisers are keen to hype the event.
In one of the adverts, however, a monkey is seen dangling on a pole vault which is – incidentally – being used by an athlete.
There is no explanation as to why the animal appears in this advert, which has other features such as the dates, venue and sponsor of the tournament.
