Missing girl found safe and sound


A 12-year-old girl who had been missing for five days has been found. Ann Nekesa’s father, Francis Simiyu told Nairobi News that the Class 4 pupil at Riruta Satelite Primary School was found stranded by a good Samaritan at Kinoo bus stop and taken to Kinoo Police Station.

She was then handed over to Kabete Police Station and later to a woman called Betty Mahamoud, Mr Simiyu said.

“The lady called and informed me that she had the child but her phone went off. She kept the child for five days in her house. When we visited Kabete Police Station, my daughter emerged and we took her home,” he recalled.

Nekesa’s missing poster had been shared widely on social media. She had been missing since May 12. Mr Simiyu thanked Kenyans who helped in tracing his lost child.

“Please let everyone know that we have found her and she is safe. We’ll deal with the rest of matter as a family,” he said.
