Miss tourism Kenya emerges top in Africa


Jacqueline Jeruto Komen became Miss Tourism Africa during the Saturday night world finals in Malaysia.

Ms Jeruto bagged the African title during the continental finals where she was up against Miss Tourism Nigeria, Ghana, Lesotho and Reunion Island.

Miss Tourism Thailand became the 2015 Miss Tourism World, while Miss Tourism Ecuador was the 1st Runner Up, Venezuela the 2nd as Serbia and Great Britain capped the top five.

The Miss Tourism World 2015 ceremony took place at the Swiss Garden Hotel Melaka during which the Miss Tourism World 2014, Tomomi Kondou, took to the stage to hand over her crown to the winner Nuchnarin Sinlaparak.

The Kenyan delegation was led by Baringo County first lady Dr Emmy Chesire who is also the county patron of the Miss tourism Baringo Chapter.

She had mobilized other five county first ladies to accompany her to Malaysia where they joined Ms Jeruto’s family members in solidarity.

Ms Jeruto is a law student at Kabarak University and hails from Poror, Eldama Ravine Sub County.

She was crowned Miss Tourism Baringo in October 2014.

Miss Tourism Africa 2014, Marley Sianto Sikawa from Narok County was also present during the Saturday finals that saw the continental crown remain in Kenya.
