Millie Odhiambo startles parliament by revisiting infamous panty incident – VIDEO

Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo on Thursday recounted an incident during which she claims she was undressed on the floor of the House.

The fiery legislator, who was contributing to the standing orders of parliament on the last day of the 11th Parliament, stated that her wish was for sexual violence to be included in the orders.

“When somebody undresses me in this House that is sexual violence Mr Speaker. You don’t touch my panty, you are not Mr Mabona,” said Millie.

Speaker Justin Muturi sought a clarification from the MP who went ahead to recount the incident.

“When I was in this House, there are male members who tried to remove my dress, one tore my panty which I have kept for historical reason because it was an embarrassing moment for this House,” she said.

EMBARRASSING

“It is fortunate it happened to me who does not give a damn. If it was another woman they would have left but because Millie Odhiambo who is fearfully and wonderfully made, I do not fear my thighs or any other private part of my body so it does not bother me.

“But it is embarrassing and should be provided in the standing orders that when you come here as a man you pass legislation you have not come to pass my underpants.”

However, the speaker said the matter is for the powers and privileges act and not standing orders of the House.

Ms Odhiambo had in 2014 in a post accused Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria of punching and undressing her in parliament.

Mr Kuria denied the claims and stated that he was only preventing her from assaulting the Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso and that it was Millie Odhiambo who removed her panty and threw it on the floor of the House.
