Mike Sonko: My wealth comes from God
Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko on Monday threw a new twist to mounting concerns about the source of his wealth, saying that it all comes from God.
In an interview with NTV’s Larry Madowo, Senator Sonko yet again dismissed claims of being a drug dealer, the latest of which was made by his political arch-rival Governor Evans Kidero.
“My wealth comes from God. I have brains, I have hands. I used to deal in land deals since I was in school, ” said Senator Sonko.
“I’ve never dealt with drugs, I have never been convicted with any drug offence. It was just a propaganda when I won the Makadara seat…there was a dossier that was brought by Saitoti (former Internal Security Minister) which was later cleared.
“I’ve never dealth with drugs, I can’t differentiate between cocaine, sugar, heroine. I don’t deal with drugs and I’ll never deal with drugs. I am a God-fearing leader,” said the Senator.
He however refused to mention his worth.
“This wealth that comes from God, what is it worth? How much are you worth Senator?” he was asked.
To which he answered; “You can ask God that question.”
