Media girl pleads innocence in love triangle row
A media personality at the centre of a love triangle involving two police officers, says she was provoked into exchanging extreme text messages with her rival.
Sheila Mulinya – a renowned show director and producer in Nairobi – has been sued by a kakamega-based female Administration Police officer of among other things, sending almost 500 abusive texts messages.
The matter is currently before a Kakamega court where Mulinya remains determined to prove her innocence. The officers Brenda Mukolwe and James Makomere are listed as the first and second plaintiffs in this suit.
Mulinya claims to have been “innocently duped” into falling for a Mombasa-based policeman who is the subject of the row.
“I met the guy while in High School but we have been in a relationship for eight months. He only told me he’d accidentally sired a child as he transitioned from his relationship with his ex. He further said that there was nothing between them other than providing for the child,” Mulinya exclusively told Nairobi News.

“He once he invited me for the child’s birthday party, only for me to find the other woman there at his place. After this encounter, I started receiving text messages from the lady which over time turned abusive. She at one time claimed my uncles had passed on with HIV,” said Mulinya, who has produced local shows such as Tahidi High (Citizen TV), Maskani (K24) and Ndoa (NTV).
Mulinya also claims James and Brenda are related and therefore theirs is an incestuous relationship.
“The girl’s mother once encouraged my relationship with James so as to end an affair between a related couple. Brenda is not sincere, there is no way I could send her 500 texts messages,” she says.
The policewoman has meanwhile accused Sheila of being the instigator of the row after she resorted to “throwing insults” at her after being jilted.
“She has been buying expensive gifts for my man to lure him. Later she started throwing insults and made a big scandal out of the matter. I feel offended and demeaned, that is why my lawyer advised we seek legal action,” she says.
The policeman in the controversy has in the meantime been unavailable for comment.
