Netizens have accused him of blasphemy for using the event as a campaign tool.

Nasib Kezhe added: “ Wajificha na kusoma quran kumbe wataka kura za mca.

But Mr Abdallah defended his decision, arguing that it is his way of serving God.

“This has nothing to do with politics. I have been moving around cleaning mosques and other stuff and it’s purely one way of serving our creator who brought us on this world to worship and praise him ,” said Mr Abdallah.

He accused his opponents of a smear campaigns instead of focusing on issue based politics.

“They have panicked and have now engaged so many bloggers to spread propaganda about my candidature,” said Mr Abdallah.
