Mass exodus looms at Sofapaka

A mass exodus is looming at Sofapaka ahead of the mid-season transfer window that officially opened at the start of this week.
Nairobi News has reliably learnt that a number of senior players have asked to and been granted their wish of leaving the club within the next three weeks, in the wake of contractual differences with the management.
Those who have formally expressed their wish are Kenya international Enock Agwanda, Patrick Kagogo, Elly Asieche and Danson Kago.
“I have already expressed my wish to leave the club this month. This decision is in good faith as I see a new challenge and I wish the team all the very best,” Kagogo told Nairobi News.
However, the players wishing to leave the club on a free transfer would be required to sign commitment letters forfeiting salary arrears that have accumulated for the past six months.
Despite the turbulence caused by a two-year financial crunch, Sofapaka under the tutelage of respected Ugandan tactician Sam Timbe is currently placed second on the Kenya Premier League standings with 27 points from 14 outings.
