Kenyan footballer McDonald Mariga has flown back home alongside his family for a five week holiday, after the completion of the 2014/2015 Italian league campaign last weekend.

The Parma FC ace arrived in Nairobi on Wednesday morning alongside his three year-old daughter Kenisha and Senegalese partner Hawa.

The trio is based in Parma where Hawa runs a chain of beauty parlours and boutiques and Kenisha schools.

The 28 year old footballer will be hoping the rest will rejuvenate him ahead of the upcoming season following a below par show this term.

The former Inter Milan and Real Socieadad midfielder struggled to earn consistent play time with the Crusaders, an outfit that was eventually relegated from the Italian top flight competition after finishing last.

The player has consequently been omitted from the national football team squad that has commenced preparations for the 2017 Africa Nations Cup qualifiers.
