Man shot, injured in Kayole by suspected gangsters


A man was on Thursday night shot and seriously injured by unknown people in Mihango-Kayole Bridge.

According to police report, members of the public heard gunshots and alerted police officers who were on patrol in the vicinity.

After proceeding to the scene they found unknown male adult lying on the ground unconscious with a bullet wound on his neck.

The victim was rushed to Mama Lucy hospital in serious condition.

Police found two spent cartridges at the scene, and could no establish the motive of shooting.

SHOT DEAD

In another incident near Embakasi village, a suspected thug was shot dead by police after snatching a handbag from a woman.

Members of the public alerted police officer who were on patrol that three men on a motorbike had snatched a handbag from a woman and rode away.

Police, members of the public and boda boda riders gave chase and when the suspects realized they were cornered, they started shooting at the police.

ESCAPEES

Police responded and managed to kill one suspect as the other two managed to escape.

A homemade gun capable of shooting and a motorcycle were recovered at the scene. The victims body was transferred to City Morgue for identification and autopsy.

Meanwhile, in Nyeri a number of juveniles escaped from a detention on Tuesday night through the roof.

According to a police report, the seven juveniles from Ruringu Children’s Home tore through the roof and tied several bed sheets and scaled down. Police are searching for the escapees.
