A 44-year-old man has been jailed for 10 years in Murang’a after he was found guilty of biting another man’s private parts leaving him with grievous harm.

On Monday, Resident Magistrate Jesse Masiga sent John Kimanga to prison after he found him guilty of attacking and seriously injuring Joseph Nguiri on August 13, 2014 at Mukumu village in Murang’a County.

In his testimony, the complainant told the court that on the material day, he met Kimanga in a local bar where he demanded to be bought a drink.

Nguiri narrated that the accused got annoyed when he refused to buy him beer saying he went on to insult and threaten to attack him.

UNZIP

“At around 10pm when I was heading home, I found Kimanga on the way and he started beating me and when I fell down, he unzipped my trouser and bit my genitals,” Nguiri told the court.

“My private parts were almost bitten off by Kimanga and I had to scream for help to alert neighbors to rescue me.”

The second witness, Francis Njoroge, the complainant’s brother, told the court how he was alerted by the neighbours about his brother’s situation, and when he arrived at the scene, he found Nguiri lying unconscious.

“I was forced to look for a means of transport to rush him to Murirajas hospital as his clothes were soaked in blood,” Njoroge told the court.

In his defense, Kimanga said on he did not meet the complainant in the bar and that he was attending to other engagement in Thika on the said date.

BAD BLOOD

He accused the complainant for conspiring to have him arrested since there was bad blood between their two families.

But the magistrate said the prosecution had proved beyond any doubt that the accused committed the heinous offense.

Kimanga was given 14 days to appeal if he was not satisfied with the judgment.
