A man in Kuresoi North was on Wednesday night lynched by neighbours after he tossed his three-year-old son into a charcoal kiln following a marital dispute with his wife.

The 36-year-old man, identified as Joseph Ndirangu, is reported to have arrived home drunk and started arguing with his wife Margaret Wanjiru.

The mother is said to have walked out of the homestead leaving her husband with their three-year-old twin boys.

The mother came back with a neighbours after a while to find one of her boys at a corner crying.

HACKED TO DEATH

“When asked where his brother was he pointed at the charcoal kiln and that is when they saw the boy’s body burning,” the boy’s uncle said.

Neighbours came in and descended upon Ndirangu with crude weapons hacking him to death.

The two bodies were later moved to Molo Hospital mortuary by police who arrived way after the mob had killed the man.

“I suspect my brother in-law was high on bhang because this was quite unusual, they have always disagreed with my sister but it has never gotten to this,” the deceased’s uncle said.
