Curtains fall on the Koth Biro Tournament as rivals Black Mamba FC and Makongeni Youth battle it out in the final at Ziwani Grounds tomorrow.

The teams were the most outstanding in the tournament that began in mid-December with a total of 32 participants drawn from across the county.

The final will be more than just a football match as the teams hail from two of the most famous estates in Eastlands, Makongeni popularly referred to as Okongo and Kaloleni nicknamed Ololo. Pride will be at stake as the neighbours face of in what is expected to be a tense final.

The players know each other, having trained together and it will be interesting to see how they perform as they go for the ultimate prize.

Makongeni Youth head coach Albert Oluoch is optimistic and is banking on his players to rise to the occasion.

The team qualified for the finals after beating favourites a 1000 Street 4-2 on penalties last weekend.

“It’s been long since we won the Cup in 2004. We are going for nothing but the title,” said Oluoch.

He believes his team has an upper hand over their rivals. “We have worked on our mistakes and the team is in perfect shape. It’s ready for the physical and mental test,” he added.

On the other hand, Black Mamba coach Zablon Otieno has warned their rivals of a tough game.
