‘Lover’ to face murder charge

Police have completed investigations into a case in which a 34 year old nurse is alleged to have stabbed to death her 21 year old lover, a court was told on Monday.

Leah Muthoni, a nurse at the Kikuyu Hospital, is accused of stabbing Mr Adrian Kabala. The offence is alleged to have been committed on October 6, near Kinoo area in Nairobi.

She will be remanded at Lang’ata women prison until Tuesday pending plea taking.

High Court deputy registrar Alex Ithuku directed the case to be mentioned on Tuesday, October 15, when Ms Muthoni is expected to take plea.

Ms Muthoni, dressed in a pink blouse, black jeans and dark sunglasses appeared calm throughout the court session.

She was arraigned in court on Monday last week, but police requested that she be kept in custody for one more week to allow them complete investigations.

The deceased was allegedly living with Ms Muthoni, a nurse at the Kikuyu Hospital, in an apartment only a stone’s throw away from his parents’ house.

The former Alliance High School student was waiting to join Kenyatta University where he had been admitted for an undergraduate course in architecture.

He had scored straight A’s in KCSE examinations in 2011.
