Logarusic arrives in Ingwe’s den

Newly appointed AFC Leopards coach Zdravko Logarusic has told Nairobi News he aims to win the league title with the big cats within two seasons.

The outspoken tactician landed in the country minutes after midday on Thursday from his native Croatia, and was received by a handful of fans at the JKIA, alongside club Chairman Allan Kasavuli and assistant Secretary General Asava Kadima.

The trainer is expected to proceed to Mumias where the team is holed up for pre-season training and will be introduced to the players and technical bench on Friday morning.

PREVIOUS STINT

“You are aware I have unfinished business in this country that I have come to love so much,” Logarusic told Nairobi News. “I intend to accomplish this within the next two seasons.”

Logarusic won all the local titles in Kenya save for the league title during his previous stint in the country while in charge of Gor Mahia. He was also crowned coach of the year in the league during the 2012 season. Leopards last won the league title in 1998.

Besides working in Kenya, Logarusic has had stints in the Tanzanian league at Simba SC, plus another successful period in Ghana at FC Ashgold and King Faisal.

Logarusic is said to have penned a one-year long contract with Ingwe worth Sh 400,000 that will be renewed based on his performance.
