Nairobi’s pastor Kathy Kiuna has stirred fresh controversy with her prosperity gospel urging Christians to tithe so as to evade poverty.
During her sermon on Sunday, the preacher stated that tithers can never remain poor, a statement that was tweeted via her personal account.
The tweet has users reacting how the tithing principle had been misused by some preachers with others reminding Kathy of the promise to drive cars by the end of last year.
Some took the opportunity to share different scriptures on tithing emphasizing that there is more to Christianity than just financial offerings.
Cheeky Kenyans on twitter cited Pastor Kathy’s recent visits to Australia where two of her daughters live as the reason why tithes were required in her church.
The pastor and her husband Bishop Allan Kiuna are the founders of Jubilee Christian Church who main sanctuary is in Parklands and has branches all over Kenya and in the US.
