A groom brought a quiet village in Meru County to life when he arrived in spectacular fashion to pay dowry to his fiancée’s family.

Jared Otieno was the man at the center of well-choreographed display as he touched down on a chopper with a fleet of fuel guzzling vehicles also part of the grand show. The lucky pride is Kendi Mwiti.

To complement the presence of the powerful machines were influential political figures including Kisumu Senator Anyang Nyongo’, Meru Senator Kiraitu Murungi and former Cabinet Minister Chris Obure among other prominent personalities.

PRE-WEDDING

The event came two months after the groom spent Sh 15 million in a pre-wedding party in Ndhiwa.

Stand-up comedian Jalango’ who was the MC at that party told a local daily:

“I trust this will be the wedding of the year. You should have seen the convoy of 18 Range Rovers and the Porsche Cayenne Jared was driven in. Literally, Ndhiwa came into a standstill. All hotels had been booked by the Meru team and we had to sleep in the cars. The cheapest drink was Black Label.”

The news brought a stir on social media with people questioning the source of Otieno’s wealth considering that he is only 29 years old. The two lovebirds are set to tie the knot in October this year.
