Man detained after being charged with killing son who pooped in the house

A man suspected of killing his 10-year-old son in Kayole after he pooped and vomited in their house will have to spend 10 more days in police custody pending investigations.

Appearing before Makadara Chief Magistrate, Investigating Officer, Edward Mlanda, told the court that on the May 16, 2019, Daniel Odongo, the father to the deceased, is believed to have severely beaten his son after the boy developed a stomach problem forcing him to vomit and poop in the house.

After beating up the boy, Odongo left him lying in bed and went to clean the mess and utensils only to return and find the young boy shivering.

PRONOUNCED DEAD

He rushed the son to Wilmad Health Centre, where the child was pronounced dead on arrival.

According to Mlanda, Odongo was arrested the same day at the health centre and taken to Kayole Police Station.

“I have not completed my investigations and need more time to enable me to record statements from prosecution witnesses and get a postmortem report from the expert,” the investigating officer’s affidavits read.

STOMACH UPSET

According to the initial report, the boy had allegedly eaten food which resulted in stomach upset.

Since he was alone in the house, he vomited and pooped in the house because he was unable to leave the house.

The case will be mentioned on 3rd June 2019.
