Eight tips on how to ease the pain of a break-up


Every person who has had their heart broken will tell you that the pain is very real. Unfortunately though, all of us will have their heart broken at least once in their life.

Here’s a look into tips to make the experience a little more bearable.

1. Wallow – When you get your heart broken, you may be around people who tell you not to cry, That the person who broke your heart isn’t worth your tears. They may have the best intentions when they tell you this but the truth is that it is okay to cry if you want to. Don’t worry about what others think, just follow your first instinct.

2. Delete from social media – It is difficult to get over the pain of a heart break when the face of the person that hurt you is all over your social media pages. You can start healing by cutting off all contacts with them on social media.

3. If you want to drink… – After a heart break, there will be the impulse to get drunk alone. Do not do it. There is no worse feeling than being drunk, sad and alone. If you want to drink, call up some friends.

4. Get a rebound – Rebounds have a way of making someone feel good after a heart break. This is as easy as going out and seeking a very attractive person to have a fling with. The rebound however will only work if the other person knows that you are not looking for something serious. Otherwise, someone will get hurt.

5. Stop scheming to get them back – If you start making plans of how to win the person that broke your heart back, then you will never get over them. You start getting over this person when you accept that they are out of your life.

6. Write about it – If you are a creative, you can get over this hurt by putting all of it on paper. Write them letters and emails where you let out everything that you want to say. When you are done, delete them. These should never be sent.

7. Create new memories – The most painful part of a heart break usually is remembering all the good memories that you made with this person. You can start to get over this person by going out and starting to make new memories of your own without them.

8. Change your mindset – To heal this pain, you may have to change how you think about yourself and relationships in general. You need to begin believing that you will fall in love again.
