Cheating husband dies at girlfriend’s doorstep after romp

A family in Takaungu village, Kilifi county, is in shock after a 57 year-old man collapsed and died after visiting his girlfriend’s house on Monday night.

The deceased, Michael Kazungu, a matatu driver after he stumbled  at the doorstep and collapsed. He died on the spot.

His family has urged police to unravel the cause of death and arrest the woman who is currently at large and her mobile phone switched off.

The family believes the missing woman will reveal details of what happened on the fateful evening.

Kilifi OCPD Alexander Makau said he is yet to get any report of the incident but promised to brief the media once he does so.

“I don’t have that information at the moment. Once I get it from the OCS, I will be able to brief you,” he told journalists.

The deceased, a father of four, was matatu driver on plying the Mombasa-Malindi route.

LONG TIME CONCUBINE

He had visited the woman believed to be his long time concubine but left in a huff, sweating profusely before he collapsed and died.

Neighbours claim the deceased was in a relationship with the woman for many years and even bore children with her.

The family’s spokesman Brown Kahindi said the deceased left his home in Tezo at around 9 pm Monday to spend the night in Kilifi. He died at around 10pm.

“We were informed of his death on Monday night and on Tuesday morning we went to the police and requested them to take us to where Kazungu died. We met some neighbours who narrated the whole story to us,” said Mr Kahindi.

“The woman whom Kazungu had visited is the same person who called the police and even recorded statement with the police but they still booked him as unknown. Surprisingly the woman’s phone has been switched off since then,” said Mr Kahindi.
