Leopards close to signing Burundi youngster Alexis

Kenyan Premier League side, AFC Leopards, are on the verge of signing Burundi youngster Alexis Hakizimana.

The 21 year old is in Nairobi for talks with the struggling Kenyan giants aimed at completing a deal, Nairobi News understands.

Even with the negotiations having dragged on for several days, there are indications that the former Atletico forward will pen a two year deal at Ingwe.

Either way, the player is not in departing coach Stewart Hall’s plans for this weekend’s game Tusker because one, he is yet to be registered by Football Kenya Federation and two, he is expected back in Bujumbura this weekend for national team.

Having scored 21 goals in Burundi’s top flight league last season, Alexis could ultimately prove a useful addition to Leopards’ squad that has been misfiring upfront.
