Lam Tungwar: South Sudan will be peaceful soon

By JOHN MUCHIRI February 21st, 2014 1 min read

Slightly over two months after the conflict in South Sudan started, popular musician and entrepreneur Lam Tungwar is hopeful that his country will be peaceful soon.

Lam, a former child soldier and a cousin to internationally renowned singer Emmanuel Jal, was not in Juba when the conflict started. “I had just left for Addis Ababa when the fighting broke out,” said Lam, who arrived in Nairobi barely a week after the fighting started.

He is now urging all South Sudanese in Kenya to remain calm and wait for a peaceful resolution.

“I have mobilised some musicians to do a peace song and we shall launch it early next week,” he told Off the Hook.
