Ladies, would you date a policeman? Facebook can’t agree
The brutal murder of a 23-year-old woman by her a love-struck policeman boyfriend has sparked a wild debate on social media.
Ms Anne Wanjohi was shot five times on Saturday evening as she pleaded on the phone with the officer’s mother to reason with her son.
The police officer identified as Constable Simon Njoroge Njau is now fighting for his life at Kenyatta National Hospital after he turned the gun on himself immediately after shooting his girlfriend.
On social media, users debated on the prudence of dating a policeman. One user identified as Ajowi K’ocholla posted the question on Kilimani Mums and Dads Facebook page and got varied answers and opinions.
“Crazy is crazy, regardless of their profession,” said Tuomas Santakallio.
“But everyone with firearms have an upper hand,” said Eunice Becky Owiro.

“There was no love here in the first place because one the lady had turned down the guy’s request for a hand in marriage and two you cannot kill a person you love. If you really love someone, you would do everything possible to win their heart even if it will take a whole century,” said Aggrey Milton Nabulindo
“That’s a stereotyping sentiment, policemen are also people, with feelings. What matters is the character,” said Samwel Ochieng.

“They tend to kill at the slightest provocation. I can never put myself in such a situation,” said Eunice Becky Owiro.
