KU hosts Dr Owuor lecture

If you happened to be at Kenyatta University yesterday (Thursday), you would probably think twice about coming back another day.

And that does not only apply to visitors. Even students and lecturers felt like strangers in their own institution. Reason: Dr David Owuor was visiting to preach and deliver a public lecture at the university’s Bishop Square.

He arrived at the event at 2pm. Everyone entering the campus located on Thika Road had to undergo a thorough security check.

Some students could be heard complaining about this unusual frisk while others were oblivious of the event taking place at their university.

Both regular and traffic police had been deployed to maintain security and traffic.

The traffic officers had a hard time controlling the overwhelming traffic, usually caused by matatus plying the KU route.

The prophet’s followers drawn from around the country started camping at the university and its environs as early as Wednesday while others came in early Wednesday morning.
