How KOT reacted to Chilobae’s temporary exit from IEBC

The decision by the CEO of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Ezra Chiloba to take a three week break from his duties ahead of the repeat presidential elections has divided opinion online.

Mr Chiloba has been under tremendous pressure from the National Super Alliance to resign, with the outfit’s leader Raila Odinga calling for street protests to force him, as well as other key officials, out of office, accusing them of mismanaging the August 8 election in which President Uhuru Kenyatta was announced the winner.

However, the Supreme Court in their ruling after a petition was filed by Mr Odinga challenging the election results, annulled the August 8th election with reasons that it had not been conducted in accordance with the law.

This has left Kenyans on Twitter trying to make sense of Chiloba’s temporary exit and what implications it holds to the commission six days to the repeat elections.
