K’Ogallo’s duo sidelined over indiscipline

Gor Mahia forwards Patrick Oboya and Kevin ‘Ade’ Omondi are already on Head Coach Bobby Williamson’s black book over indiscipline.

The two forwards, according to a source who requested anonymity as he is not allowed to talk to the press, said the two are known to be inconsistent at training.

“Oboya has already fallen casualty of his actions as he was dropped from the team for the Bitam trip. Omondi is currently injured but he also usually trains inconsistently and at times misses the sessions because of his drinking escapades,” said the source.

The duo’s conduct was the main agenda of a meeting between the club’s coaching staff and the executive in Bitam, Gabon, on the evening of their arrival for the second leg of the CAF Champions league tie against US Bitam.

The executive demanded to know why Oboya was dropped from the team to Gabon, and it was then that head coach Bobby Williamson divulged the information to the executive.

“The Coach is not very bothered by the two, as he believes he has more than capable replacements for the two should they fail to shape up. He however has faith in them and has asked them to catch up with the rest in terms of discipline,” the executive added.

Omondi has previously been put on the spot before for the same reasons, when he was dropped from the Harambee Stars squad in the 2012 Cecafa tournament in Uganda alongside AFC Leopards winger Paul Were.

The two on that occasion escaped from the team camp to go on a drinking spree in Kampala, which angered then head coach Henri Michel, forcing him to release the two from the team.
