Crime.

A 38-year-old witchdoctor who has “confessed” of the gruesome killing of his lover will now undergo a psychiatric test before he is charged with murder, the High Court ruled on Tuesday.

Geoffrey Wanjala Wechule appeared before Lady Justice Roselyne Korir for the second time on Tuesday but was not required to plead to the charge.

He accused of killing Ms Jane Kadogo Mutiso on October 21 at Gatina village in Nairobi’s Kawangware.

The man turned himself in at the Muthangari police station where he still has confessed of  beheading the woman on the fateful night.

But State prosecutors asked for more time for a mental assessment although investigations are complete.

He will spend a week at the Mathari Hospital for profiling and returns to court on November 13, the court was told.

Last week, the DPP Keriako Tobiko  warned the police to fill up the missing gaps in the case before preferring a charge against the suspect.
