Killer matatu in yet another horror accident in Kitengela
A matatu that killed four people along Lang’ata Road two years ago has been involved in yet another accident.
The matatu, initially registered under Ongata Line Sacco, has now moved to Wamasaa Investment Sacco. It has also switched operation to the Kitengela route.
In its latest accident, the matatu, registration number KCG 784 M, tipped over while overlapping on Namanga road on Thursday.
No fatalities were reported in the latest incident.
Police say the accident occurred as a result of speeding.
The accident is strikingly similar to the one it had in September 25, 2016 in which four people died and six others were injured. In that instance, it had veered off the road and overturned on Lang’ata road.
Kenyans online are now urging the National Transport and Safety Authority to ensure the matatu does not operate on any other route.

I have always complained of @ntsa_kenya inability or disinterest in enforcing road safety laws. They are ineffective, even after receiving billions in finding. I have, in countless times, reported incidents of gross violation of traffic rules and no action has EVER been taken.

It’s a case of duplication of institutions to make it hard for implementation and rule of law. The only guys who were supposed to be empowered is the Kenya Police, why hv @ntsa_kenya which is under @PoliceKE and has no authority power than a civilian director? Waste of resources

This same matatu was being driven recklessly last week, it almost rammed into pedestrians and bystanders along Enterprise road on its way to town! The driver and the crew seemed mentally unstable! Very rogue
