Kidero threatens to sack striking nurses
Governor Evans Kidero has told a senate committee that he will sack all Nairobi county nurses participating in the ongoing nationwide strike.
Dr Kidero on Thursday told the Senate Finance Committee that he has already authorised for a headcount of nurses boycotting work and is waiting for the final report before making his next move.
He told the committee that the ongoing strike is illegal and he will take action
“I’m still waiting for the report and all the striking nurses will be sacked,” Dr Kidero said.
Nurses in Nairobi marched to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) offices on Wednesday, where they camped for hours demanding to be given audience by chairperson, Sarah Serem.
