Kidero, Kenneth tear each other apart in church
Nairobi political rivals Governor Evans Kidero and former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth clashed during a rare meeting on Sunday when they shared a podium at a church function in Ruai.
The two leaders, who were attending the Anglican Church of Kenya in Ruai, took the opportunity to tear each other as they urged the residents to register as voters for the August general elections.
Mr Kenneth fired the first salvo by accusing the governor of letting the city deteriorate into a poor state during his tenure compared to the defunct City Council.
Mr Kenneth said that the governor should tell the people of Nairobi what he has done to deserve another term as the city’s governor.
“Show us your work and I will show you mine and the residents can choose who they want to empower to work for them,” said Mr Kenneth.

“What we are competing for is who among us can deliver better services. Now if you walk in Nairobi, you will find garbage and blocked drainage. It takes you at least two hours to move from one place to another,” he further said.
Mr Kenneth, who is eyeing the Jubilee ticket for the gubernatorial seat, did not spare his counterparts within the ruling party saying that they should come out and seek votes instead of fighting each other.
But in response, Kidero laughed off the former MP’s bid, saying Mr Kenneth is not even guaranteed of the Jubilee ticket.
“We understand that you went to Muranga and I don’t know what happened, but welcome to Nairobi. First put your house in order before we start politics,” said Dr Kidero.
“My friend I want you to be careful because at the rate at which you are going for smaller positions from presidency to governor you will soon find himself vying for MCA seat,” Kidero added.
