Ousted Nairobi governor Kidero keeps public guessing
Former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero is slowly making a return to the political scene a month after losing the capital city’s top job.
On Thursday, Kidero, who lost the Nairobi gubernatorial seat to Mike Sonko, made his first public appearance on the political front.
He was among top officials aligned to the opposition Nasa who attended a strategy meeting at a Nairobi hotel.
The agenda of the day was to prepare the opposition alliance for the fresh presidential election on October 17 as ordered by the Supreme Court ruling of September 1.

Later, Dr Kidero appeared for a press briefing alongside the coalition’s top honchos namely Johnston Muthama, TJ Kajwang, Ken Okoth, Esther Passaris and Simba Arati.
Kidero’s re-appearance has left his supporters and political analysts guessing over his next move.
After initially protesting the outcome of the August 8 polls, Dr Kidero would later make an about turn and concede defeat to Sonko.
He later on turned out to hand over power to Sonko at Uhuru Park in a ceremony attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy, William Ruto. His gesture prompted praise from the Head of State.
He was also rumoured to be among those considered for Cabinet appointments in the next Jubilee government, but that was before the Supreme Court nullified President Kenyatta’s victory.
