Kidero issues notice for business licenses compliance

Business enterprises in Nairobi have up to Tuesday next week to pay for licenses or face arrest by county askaris.

County Officers will be conducting random premise checks to ensure compliance.

Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero speaking at his office in City Hall however warned officers not to harass business men.

He advised city residents to email complaints directly to him if they are harassed by his askaris.

DEADLINE

“All businesses should comply with the deadline to be licensed by 31st March. I encourage you to report any Nairobi County officer soliciting for a bribe or harassing you via ekidero@nairobi.go.ke in order for us to take action against them,” he said.

The Governor reminded Nairobians to remit payments via the County’s electronic system; eJijipay or by depositing money in any Co-operative and Family Bank branches.

The Governor said the online platform was part of a raft of measures Nairobi County is undertaking to enhance revenue collection while creating a friendlier business climate.
