Kidero ‘donates’ Nyambane to boost Uhuru’s reelection chances

Comedian and media personality Walter Mong’are, aka Nyambane is set to ditch his job at City Hall to join President Uhuru Kenyatta’s campaign team.

Mr Mong’are, the director of communication in the governor’s office, is waiting for Dr Evans Kidero’s approval before taking up his new job in the Jubilee Party.

His tenure at City Hall has been marred by controversy that saw him being temporarily suspended in May last year after he failed to submit his academic papers to his employer. He was reinstated five months later and blamed the episode to a witch-hunt by unnamed malicious people.

On Thursday, an exuberant Mr Monga’re told Nairobi News that he was headhunted by President Kenyatta to become the Jubilee point man in Gusii land in charge of youths.

SEEKING POLITICAL SEAT

Mr Monga’re however vehemently denied that he has defected to Jubilee Party and that he is seeking a political seat.

“When God opens opportunities, no amount of anger, hatred can stop me. I am been recognized as a public servant by the president and it does not mean it’s political,” said Mr Mong’are.

He also expressly denied that he is resigning from his current job, and instead termed his move as a ‘deployment and promotion from the county government to the national government.’

Mr Mong’are is currently on official duty in Kisumu organizing the Lake Region Economic Bloc International Health Investment conference.

TALK WITH KIDERO

He expects to hold talks with Dr Kidero soon on the new job before being released by City Hall. The talks are however considered a formality.

“I will be meeting with Governor Kidero later this week to streamline my transition from city shall to the presidency. More than anything, I believe in God and all things that I have is for him to be Glorified. It’s not everyday that the president asks for someone to work with him, and so it’s an honor and privilege to serve the president of the country in whatever capacity,” he announced in a subsequnt press statement.

“Kwa sasa tuko pamoja, wacha tuchape kazi. Pia Jubilee no chama au sio? I thank the president for recognizing my ability and I don’t take it for granted and I look forward to serving him and the country.”
