Kenyan’s filmmaker Eugene Mbugua eyes Tanzanian market


Kenyan film producer and director Eugene Mbugua says he is keen to work with more artists in East Africa, and has trained his sights in Tanzania.

The creative is behind some of Kenya’s popular TV shows such as Young Rich, Get in The Kitchen, Our Perfect Wedding, and Story Yangu.

He confirmed to Nairobi News he is in talks with some of Tanzania’s top entertainment bosses in anticipation of new projects that he has aligned for East Africa.

“The talks have been really good, and I must say things are shaping up well. I have held series of meetings with notable entertainment stakeholders here, and we should be able to produce a number of shows from Tanzania,”

Mbugua, who was recognized in 2016 as among Forbes 30 most promising Entrepreneurs Africa, is using a blend of narrative devices and interviews with real subjects woven into high-quality television shows, D&R TV charts, the meteoric rise, and the cataclysmic burst of African stories that are told the African way.

Currently, Mbugua is in talks with the CEO of Clouds Media Group Joseph Kusaga, CEO of E FM Radio Francis Ciza, Music Producer & Sound Engineer, Hermy B, Award-winning personalities such as Juma Jux, AY, Hamisi B Mandi, Jonijoo, and Evans Bukuku about creating new television shows featuring renowned Kenyan and Tanzanian personalities.

Some shows currently airing include Sol Family, Foods of Kenya, Stori Yangu, and his latest creation This Love.
