Kenya tumble out of Wellington 7s Main Cup

Kenya has been eliminated from the Main Cup at the Wellington Sevens after suffering losses to Argentina and England early on Saturday morning.

Kenya got off to a false start losing 17-12 to Argentina and although they mauled Papua New Guinea 47-5 in the next match, a 31-12 loss to England relegated them to the Challenge Trophy where they will face Russia in the quarter finals.

Against the South Americans, Shujaa committed costly errors in kicking and off load. In the match against England Shujaa were punished from kick-off to give the Englishmen possession.

“We lost concentration in the past two games and it came to haunt us in the last game against England as well, so we need to work on the mistakes that we did and hopefully we will win tomorrow (Sunday). We really need to work hard to get everything right and I’m happy that some of the boys are back to full fitness,” Kenya Sevens winger Willy Ambaka said after the match.
