You won’t believe monthly electricity bills paid by two seniors lawyers, ex-governor

Two senior lawyers and a former governor have left the online community reeling in shock after disclosing the huge amounts of money they pay to Kenya Power for their monthly bills.

Innumerable Kenyans have complained about inflated power bills in the recent months.

And on Monday, the Energy Regulatory Commission removed the Sh150 fixed charge but that move is said to benefit the small and huge power consumers.

Reacting to the move, Nairobi lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi disclosed that he has been shelling out top dollar to the power firm.

“I paid kshs 220,000 last month for my home’s electricity bill… I don’t run a medium sized factory… how is that possible Apollo? I need your services…” he tweeted to lawyer Apollo Mboya, who has embarked on a class action suit against Kenya Power.
