Kenya Power to shutdown prepaid services for two days


Kenya Power will shut down its prepaid services for maintenance starting Tuesday, April 9th to Wednesday, April 10th.

In a notice on the local dailies, the power company said the temporary shutdown is meant to enable migration of data to a new hardware for improved services.

“We wish to inform our esteemed customers that the prepaid systems will be temporarily shut down from Tuesday 9th April 11pm to Wednesday 10th April 6pm. To enable migration of data to a new hardware for improved service delivery,” said Kenya Power in the advert.

During the shutdown, purchase of electricity tokens in Kenya power’s banking halls, the prepaid paybill number and via all other prepaid vending channels will not be available.

“As such, we advise our customers to purchase tokens early to avoid inconveniences from the shutdown.”

However, the power firm said post-paid bill services will not be affected.

Earlier this year Kenya Power came under pressure after itsr prepaid systems collapsed for three days preventing homes and businesses from receiving prepaid service
