Kenya Power denies cutting off power to Milimani courts as its managers pleaded bail

Kenya Power has denied cutting off power supply to Milimani Law Courts on Tuesday morning during the bail hearing for its managers charged with corruption.

The power supplier, in a tweet, said the outage may have been caused by internal wiring at the courts.

Kenya Power explained; “There has not been a blackout at the Milimani courts as reported by a section of the media. Our technical team has confirmed that electricity to the court is on and that the outage may have been occasioned by internal wiring.”

The blackout forced an adjournment of bail hearing for 17 senior Kenya Power managers who are charged with various counts of corruption.

The power supply was eventually restored.

Kenyans on Twitter did not seem to buy explanation.

David Ngure commented; “No sane Kenyan can believe your PR team anymore .Need a thorough overhaul in the whole company.”

Wilson Muchichu added; “FACT. There was a blackout… where internal or external we don’t give a damn…your way of refuting the claim is so bogus.”

Nesta Felix Mutinda wrote; “And you think we can believe you. Go hug your transformers. #SwitchOffKplc #Kenyapowerless.”
