FBI detectives visit scene where trio were reportedly murdered


Four detectives from the Federal Bureau of Investigations are in the country to help in the investigation of the murder of lawyer Willie Kimani, his client and a taxi driver.

On Tuesday, the FBI agents visited the scene where the victims are believed to have been murdered.

The team, according to the Director of Criminal Investigations, are experts in murder investigations , manslaughter and attempted murder.

Two of the FBI detectives are experts in evidence gathering and are involved in the analysis and collection of evidence.

The team joins detectives from the Homicide department at the DCI headquarters and will be in the country for the next one week.

Apart from the two teams, the DCI’s specialised teams including the Flying Squad headed by Mr Said Kiprotich and Special Crime Prevention Unit of Mr Noah Katumo are also helping in the investigations.

The late Kimani was working with the International Justice Mission, whose headquarters are in Washington DC, US.

The detectives attended Kimani’s postmortem on Monday alongside family and Law Society of Kenya representatives.
