Kenrazy scoops three trophies at Bingwa Awards
Grandpa Records’ artiste Kenrazy was the biggest winner at the inaugural Bingwa Music Awards, held at the Michael Joseph Centre, Nairobi, on Saturday evening.
Kenrazy won three awards while Grandpa Records won the Best Studio award. Kenrazy won in the Best Verse, Best Stage Performer and Best Artiste of the Year.
Other winners included Jaguar, who won the Song of the Year award with his hit ‘Kioo’. Nameless won the Best Comeback Artiste award, while Wyre won the Ever Relevant Male Artiste award.
Songbird Avril won the Ever Relevant Female Artiste of the Year while Ameleina won the Best Songwriter award.
Ghetto Radio won the Best radio station award while Mzazi Willy Tuva won the Best Radio Presenter with his Mseto East Africa show on Citizen TV winning the Best TV show.
Daily Nation’s showbiz writer, John Muchiri won the Showbiz Writer of the Year award.
The event was well organized apart from a small mishap at the beginning where awards were mixed up.
H_Art the Band, Wavinya, Mashujaa, were among the artistes who performed with a good number of the artistes nominated showing up for the awards.
