Keep my mother out of this, DNG tells Boniface Mwangi

Radio presenter DNG, born Davidson Ngibuini, had a tweef Tuesday morning with activist Boniface Mwangi over a statement the host made during his breakfast show on One FM.

DNG’s co-host Saidi Lulu posted on Twitter: “Ati @dngkenya says there are no hot Kenyan women above 40 who look as good as #VictoriaBeckham..Someone please prove him wrong @OneFMKe.”

The tweet drew criticism from fans but a retweet with a comment from Boniface Mwangi hit DNG below the belt and he was not impressed.

Mwangi wrote: “We should call his @dngkenya mother and ask her that question.”

DNG swiftly responded: “@bonifacemwangi Bro, unataka nini na mathangu wewe? Kuwa na heshima tafadhali.

And to that Mwangi, responded: “@dngkenya No disrespect. I responded to your @OneFMKe question with a question. You can’t say they’re no beautiful Kenyan women over 40 years.”

The tweef went on with DNG stating, “@bonifacemwangi Anything that has to do with someone’s mother is personal. I don’t take it kindly. As regards @OneFMKe listen in context.”

To that Mwangi responded, “@dngkenya If you’re going to ask an insensitive question that disrespects our women be prepared to be answered in kind. @OneFMKe.”

Other users who weighed in the discussion had mixed reactions to the matter, with some asking Mwangi not to drag DNG’s mum into the tweef. Others stated that the presenter should have considered his mother before making such a statement.

Mwangi has a soft spot for mothers as he was brought up by a single mother who passed on before seeing him through high school.
