KCPE candidates flock to churches

Most churches in Nairobi prayed for primary school national examination candidates on Sunday.

The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination is set to begin Tuesday.

At the Holy Family Basilica in the Central Business District, the clergy prayed for hundreds of children during the main mass.

At the Umoja Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA), the congregation was made up mainly of KCPE candidates and their parents.

Friends also came to pray for the pupils.

At the Doro Chrisitna Fellowship Church in Ayany estate, Kibera, pastor Patrick Nyamai led worshippers in seeking divine intervention for the candidates, many drawn from nearby schools.

He advised them not to panic.

The boys and girls and their parents were invited to the altar where the pastor invoked divine blessings upon them.

The examination begins on Tuesday morning and ends on Thursday.
